Cushing Summer Institute, June 2004
Workshop: "Presenting with PowerPoint in the History and Social Science Classroom"

Facilitated by Cushing Parent, Chris Phinney
Cushing History and Social Science Department
June 2, 2004

Below, please view two QuickTime videos for each member of the History and Social Science Department at Cushing. The history faculty spent an afternoon during CSI with Cushing parent Chris Phinney discussing effective techniques in presenting material through PowerPoint. Each teacher made a brief 2-4 minute presentation both before and after the department's discussions in an attempt to improve upon their presentation techniques.

The QuickTime videos are provided for intra-department evaluation and assessment. The goal of the exercise is for each teacher to evaluate him/herself teaching using PowerPoint and be able to "take the best and leave the rest." Over time, it is expected that each teacher's PowerPoint presentation skills will improve and, thus, ultimately benefit Cushing students.
